Herappearanceseemstobeamixtureofattractivewomenofallraces,andisoftenseenasanintangiblespirit.However,incasesofseriousproblems,Gaiagainscorporealform,whichputsherindangerofdeath.Inthetwo-partepisode"SummittoSaveEarth"whereherrivalZarmhaddefeatedher,Gaiawasshownasanold,frailwoman,withZarmexplainingthatgiventheEarth'sseveralbillionyearsofexistence,itwouldmakesenseforGaiatobesuperannuatedinappearance. TheEco-Villainsareasmallgroupofantagonistswhocausedangertotheplanetthroughpollution,deforestation,poaching,andotherenvironmentallyunsafeactivities.Theyenjoythedestructiontheycausetotheplanetandtheharmtheybringtoobtainwealth,land,orpower.TheEco-Villainstendtoworkalonemostofthetime,althoughthey'rewillingtoworkwithoneanotherwhenitsuitstheirplans.WhentheEco-VillainsaredefeatedbyCaptainPlanetandthePlaneteers,theywouldmostlybearrestedbytheauthorities.Onlyinthetwo-partepisode"SummittoSaveEarth"didtheentireensembleofEco-VillainsworkasateamwithZarmastheleader.Eachofthesevillainsrepresentsaspecificwayofthoughtthatcancauseecologicalproblems. HoggishGreedly(voicedbyEdAsner)–Apig-likehumanwhorepresentsthedangersofoverconsumptionandgreed,HoggishisthefirstvillainCaptainPlanetandthePlaneteersencounter.Intheepisode"SmogHog",it'srevealedHoggishhasasonnamedHoggishGreedlyJr.(voicedbyCharlieSchlatter)whoappearsonlyonceandhadgottenaffectedbyhispollutingRoadHogplot.Becauseofthis,GreedlyhadtoworkwithCaptainPlanettosavehisson'slife.Intheepisode"HogTide,"itisrevealedthathehasagrandfathernamedDonPorkaloin(portrayedasaparodyofVitoCorleonefromTheGodfatherandalsovoicedbyEdAsner)whointhepastwasdefeatedbyanothergroupofPlaneteers.UnlikeHoggishGreedly,Porkaloinbecameenvironmentallyfriendlyasshownintheepisode"TheGhostofPorkaloinPast".
