WhenarrivingattheBlack-BriarLodge,therewillbetwotothreemercenaryguardsoutsideinfrontofthelodge;anarcherandaswordsman.Oneoptionistoapproachfromthefrontandfightthemastoenterthroughthefront,or,sneakaroundandopenthebasementdooronthewestsideofthehouse.Ifathirdmercenarydoesnotjointhefightoutsidefromthebasement,theremaybetwointhebasementarea. Alternately,thebuildingcanbeapproachedfromtherear.TheLodgeissetbackagainstahillthatrunsalongthewestsideofthebuildingandouttowardtheroadtothesouth. The sneak skillcanalsobeputtogoodusehere,as thereisasmallpathontheeastsideofthehillmentionedabove.BehindtheLodge,thereisawoodenlookouttowerandasingleguardthatwalksbetweenthetwobuildings.Killtheguard,takethekeyandenterfromthebackdoor(northside—topbuildinglevel). Nomatterwhatapproachistaken,theobjectiveistostealFrosts'identitypapers,sotheBlack-BriarLodgemustbeentered.Thelodgeisathree-levelbuilding;therearelivingquartersandroomsabove,adiningareaandroomsatmid-levelandstorageroomsandlivingquartersatthebasementlevel.AlloutsideguardsappeartocarrykeystounlockthedoorsoftheLodge.Asingleguardmaybeintheupperlevelandthreetofourguardsinthemid/diningroomlevel.Intheupstairsbedroom,thereisaStoneofBarenziah onanight-table. Oncedownstairs,therewillbeabarrelinthebackwiththepapersinastrongbox.Thepapersmayalsobefoundononeofthetables. Stealing Frost[] After Frost'sidentitypapershavebeenretrieved,gooutsidetoretrieveFrost;he willbeoutsideeitherinorbehindthestablesrunningaroundloose.MountFrostandproceedtoLetrush,whoiscloseby. ReturningtoLouisLetrush[] IfFrostdiesonthewaytoLouisLetrush,thequestfails.Therearenoscriptedenemiesontheway,butstandardrandomencountersmaystilloccur,inwhichcasehostileenemieswilltargetbothFrostandtheDragonborn.IfarandomencounterwhichinvolvescombatoccursnearbyLouis,hewilljoininthecombat,preventingthecompletionofthequestuntilhehasleftcombatandtheenemieshavebeendefeated.Ifarandomdragon encounteroccurs,ridingFrostataveryslowpacemayavoidcatchingthedragon'sattention. AftergettingtoLouisLetrush,initiateaconversationwithhimwhichwillgiveseveraldialogueoptions. ThereareseveraloptionstocompletethejobLetrushhasgivenandtofinishthedeal. Thefirst(andeasiest)wayistosimplyacceptthepaymentandgiveFrosttoLetrush,completingthejobLetrushhasgivenandthequestitself. Asecondoptionistopersuadehimtogivethepaymentandalsotokeepthehorse.Therearetwosub-options,andmaybebasedonwhetherornottheDragonbornhasalreadyspokenwithMaven.ThefirstoptionistothreatentoreporttoMavenunlessallowedtokeepthehorse,thesecondistothreatentokillhimtokeepthehorse.Thefirstresultsinaresponsefromhimthat"Youplayadangerousgame"andheleavestheDragonbornthehorseandwalksaway.Ifhislifeisthreatened,hecomments,leavesthehorseandrunsaway.Inbothcases,theDragonbornhasthehorseandgotthegoldaswell.Louiswill,however,sendahiredthuginretaliation.Thethugwillrandomlyshowupatalaterpointsayingthat"thisisforbetrayingLouisLetrush"beforeattacking.
