On19January2019,onEVAAir'sflightfromLosAngelestoTaoyuan,Taipei,adisorderlyoverweightAmericanpassengeraskedfemaleflightattendantsforassistanceinthelavatory.Claimingthatherecentlyhadsurgeryandwasphysicallyunabletowipehisbuttocks,hedemandedthattheflightattendantscleanhisbackside.Afterberatingthemwhentheyrefused,theflightattendantsreluctantlycomplied.ItwaslaterrevealedthatthepassengerwasafrequentEVAAircustomerwithahistoryofmakingsimilarquestionablerequeststotheairline'sflightattendants.Theairlinemovedtocancelthepassenger'sreturnflightbutlearnedthathediedinThailand.[135][136]
