Moreover,deductivereasoningcanbeexplainedas“reasoningfromthegeneraltotheparticular”[5],whereasinductivereasoningistheopposite.Inotherwords,deductiveapproachinvolvesformulationofhypothesesandtheirsubjectiontotestingduringtheresearchprocess,whileinductivestudiesdonotdealwithhypothesesinanyways. ApplicationofDeductiveApproach(DeductiveReasoning)inBusinessResearch Instudieswithdeductiveapproach,theresearcherformulatesasetofhypothesesatthestartoftheresearch.Then,relevantresearchmethodsarechosenandappliedtotestthehypothesestoprovethemrightorwrong. Generally,studiesusingdeductiveapproachfollowthefollowingstages: Deducing hypothesisfromtheory. Formulating hypothesisinoperationaltermsandproposingrelationshipsbetweentwospecificvariables Testing hypothesiswiththeapplicationofrelevantmethod(s).Thesearequantitativemethodssuchasregressionandcorrelationanalysis,mean,modeandmedianandothers. Examining theoutcomeofthetest,andthusconfirmingorrejectingthetheory.Whenanalysingtheoutcomeoftests,itisimportanttocompareresearchfindingswiththeliteraturereviewfindings. Modifying theoryininstanceswhenhypothesisisnotconfirmed.
