Aswithmanypublishinghits,the"OprahEffect"playedarole.WinfreydevotedtwoshowsinFebruaryto"TheSecret,"andLarryKingandEllenDeGeneresalsofeatureditontheirshows.Itwasspoofedon"SaturdayNightLive"whenamanportrayingarefugeeintheDarfurregionofSudanwasblamedforhavingnegativethoughts.
